Applications
Typical Compressed Air Applications in a WWTP
From robotic pipeline repair to epoxy pipe relining, pneumatic tool air is used extensively in trenchless sewer rehabilitation. A reliable supply of high-quality compressed air is crucial, impacting the performance and safety of the repair operations.
Typical applications: robotic rehabilitation and repair, epoxy pipe relining, pneumatic sealing cushions
Durable, dependable and efficient, KAESER’s comprehensive range of portable compressors effortlessly meet the high-quality compressed air requirements of trenchless sewer rehabilitation projects.
Low-pressure air is essential for municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) operating aerated grit removal systems. Used to aid the separation and removal of grit particles from the influent, a precise and dependable supply of low-pressure air is critical for optimum results.
KAESER manufactures an extensive range of blower solutions, that reliably and energy-efficiently meet the low-pressure air requirements of aerated grit removal systems.
During biological treatment, low-pressure air is introduced into aeration tanks to oxygenate the wastewater, creating the ideal conditions for microorganisms to break down organic matter. Dependable blowers play a key role in treatment efficiency.
KAESER’s advanced and reliable blowers are designed for maximum efficiency and low energy consumption - extremely important as aeration blowers can account for up to 60% of a WWTP’s energy costs.
Filter backwashing is a typical process found in filtration systems employed across the water management value chain. It is employed to clean the filter material in order to extend its useful life, maintain process performance and protect downstream equipment.
Whether the filter backwashing process is continuous or semi-continuous, or requires low-pressure air or compressed air, KAESER has a reliable, efficient and durable solution!
The entire operating process at a treatment plant, e.g. adjustment of valves, gates and flaps, is often controlled using pneumatic actuators. This enables precise and reliable control even under harsh conditions (e.g. in corrosive environments or low ambient temperatures). In some cases, the compressed air network is also used for supplying air-operated pumps and for sludge drying applications.
KAESER offers an extensive selection of rotary screw compressors and compressed air treatment components to meet a wide variety of requirements in relation to pneumatic control at a wastewater treatment plant.
In a treatment plant workshop, a dependable supply of quality compressed air is frequently required for a variety of tasks, such as operating air tools or cleaning workpieces.
For workshops that do not require constant high volumes of compressed air, reciprocating compressors from KAESER are the perfect choice. For larger workshops with constant compressed air demand, a rotary screw compressor may be the optimal solution.
